Breathtaking views old town Lisbon & 25 April Bridge: Tagus riverfront Restaurant ‘Ponto Final’ Cacilhas, great Portuguese food, easy to reach by ferry & winter season

Planning a short trip to Lisbon? Don’t miss the opportunity to visit Cacilhas, (Almada, part of Lisbon area), the south bank of the river Tagus (Tejo). Very easy to reach by ferry. The views on downtown Lisbon and the 25 April Bridge are amazing! Take the ferry from Lisbons’ Cais do Sodré (every 10 minutes) to Cacilhas at the other side of the river Tagus, a very pleasant 10 min trip. (Return ticket ca. 2 euro).

As you get off the ferry,  it takes about 15 minutes to walk along the river to Restaurant ‘Ponto Final’, after passing lots of ruinous warehouses.

It can be rather windy along the river Tagus, so don’t forget a sweater in case you like to have dinner here. Or, order a bottle of wine and a starter, enjoy it outside for at least a glass, then move inside for the main dish.

Thanks for the reccommendation. We caught the ferry and then a new tram line a couple of stops, walked to the elevator and thence down to the restaurant. It has to be one of the most idyllic places to dine, as we did, at sunset. The set sets over the enormous suspension bridge. A lot of tables wee reserved but not then occupied and room was soon made for us. We both had bream; delicious. At dusk we set off along the coast back to the ferry but were warned by the restauranteur not to do it after dark. Our trip was in September. The ferries back to the mainland run til after midnight. THanks again. Supurb place.
