Bairro Alto is a fantastic old neighbourhood in the center of the city. One of the oldest parts of town. Literally, Bairro Alto means ‘High neighbourhood’, as it is on top of one of the seven hills of Lisbon.
If you wanna get a good impression of the city, a very good idea is taking this typical little tram, ‘electrico 28′. It goes all around town. Of course you can hop on and hop off. It passes the castle, Alfama, Graça, Mouraria, Bairro Alto, you name it.
No clue who these people are, but it’s a rather positive initiative… The video gives good impression of the Baixa Chiado area.
